Make a Grand Entrance - part 1

Hi there, I'm thinking about entrance's today. There is nothing more welcoming than being greeted by a lovely console table, a mirror or artwork hung over. It's even better when you accessorise it with lamps, books, boxes and vases. I love the idea of 'padding out' a console table by adding matching stools or chairs either side for symmetry and just to lengthn the console. The chairs or stools then also become a great place to sit and put your shoes on before you walk out the door or throw your bag on when you come in. Hope you like these images below - some are quite simple and some very elaborate!! What do you have in your home?
The lamps bring Symmetry to this composition. I love the books and boxes - it's a very personal entry.

This is a very grand entrance. I love that black and white floor, and oh to have an entrance large enough for a round table!!

Love this simple worldly look with the chair bringing in a lovely pop of colour

this is Suzanne Kasler's entrance in her own home. She set it up just like a room - rather than a throughfare - you could actually stop here and spend some time.

More Suzanne Kasler - love the pop of colour in the stools

Beautiful apartment entrance - love that floor!!

simple and effective - the books counter balance the chair for symmetry

Sweet bench with a lovely vignette of textured finds/collectables

Punchy little entry way nook. The rug is awesome!!

I really like the umbrella stand

Collectable mania!!

Just stunning!! Those chairs are so beautiful and the console table is incredible

Great display of eclectic finds

I just love that wallpaper!! What a great entrance

Here's a great example of symmetry with the chairs either side and matching lamps. The piles of books make it look really personal and lived in

Isn't this amazing? Imagine having a couple of Unicorns in your hallway. I hope no Unicorns were harmed in the creation of this fantasy entry.
